Email Settings & Reminders

The Email Settings & Reminders section allows you to configure email delivery and automate customer notifications related to wishlist activity.

By connecting your email account, Wishy Wishlist can send reminder emails, stock alerts, and promotional notifications directly to customers.

Email Configuration

Before sending emails, you must configure your SMTP (email server) settings.

Gmail Setup

If you're using Gmail as your email provider, follow these steps:

Step 1: Enable 2-Step Verification

  1. Log in to your Gmail account.

  2. Click your profile picture.

  3. Select Manage your Google Account.

  4. Open the Security tab.

  5. Enable 2-Step Verification if it is not already enabled.

Step 2: Generate an App Password

  1. In the Security section, open App Passwords.

  2. Create a new app password.

  3. Enter an app name such as Wishy Wishlist App.

  4. Click Create.

  5. Copy the generated password.

Step 3: Configure SMTP Settings

Enter the generated password in the Password field and complete the remaining SMTP settings.

Click Save to activate email delivery.

Mail Server Details

Provide the details of your email provider.

Sender Email

The email address customers will see as the sender of wishlist notifications.

Example:

hello@yourstore.com

SMTP Host

The mail server used to send emails.

Examples:

  • Gmail: smtp.gmail.com

  • Outlook: smtp.office365.com

  • SendGrid: smtp.sendgrid.net

SMTP Port

The communication port used by your email provider.

Common values:

  • TLS: 587

  • SSL: 465

Username

Your email account username, usually your email address.

Password

Your email account password or app password generated from your email provider.

Encryption Protocol

Choose the security protocol supported by your email provider:

  • TLS (Recommended)

  • SSL

  • None

Automated Reminders

Automated reminders help you re-engage customers and encourage them to return to products they have saved.

Enable or disable each notification based on your marketing strategy.

Instant Wishlist Email

Send an email immediately after a customer adds a product to their wishlist.

Restock Notifications

Automatically notify customers when a product saved in their wishlist becomes available again.

Notify customers when a wishlist item is discounted or goes on sale.

Low Stock Warning

Notify customers when a wishlist item is running low in stock.

Benefits

  • Creates urgency.

  • Encourages quicker purchases.

  • Helps reduce missed sales opportunities.
