Products

First, create a product restriction rule by clicking Add Product Rule.

Restriction rules prevent customers from purchasing conflicting products together. For example, if Product X is added to the cart, Product Y can be restricted from being purchased in the same order.

A Product Dependency Rule allows you to require customers to purchase specific products together. When a customer adds the primary product to their cart, the dependent products become required and must also be purchased before checkout.

1. Select Rule Type

Choose the type of relationship you want to create between products.

Restriction

Use this option when certain products should not be purchased together.

If one product is added to the cart, the restricted product cannot be added.

Example: A customer cannot purchase Product A and Product B in the same order.

Dependency

Use this option when products must be purchased together.

If a customer adds the primary product to the cart, the dependent product(s) are automatically required.

Example: A customer purchasing a camera must also purchase a required warranty plan.

2. Primary Item

The Primary Item is the main product that triggers the rule.

When a customer adds this product to their cart, the selected dependency or restriction rule becomes active.

Primary Product

Arin Socks

In this example, Arin Socks is the product that activates the rule.

3. Target Items

Target Items are the products associated with the primary product.

For a Dependency Rule, these products must also be purchased when the primary product is added to the cart.

Target Products

Lady Roma Scarf

In this example, customers who purchase Arin Socks must also purchase Lady Roma Scarf.

Show Bundle Widget on Storefront

Enable this option to display a bundle widget on the product page.

The widget visually displays the products in the bundle and helps customers understand which items must be purchased together.

If disabled, the dependency rule will still be enforced, but the bundle widget will not be visible on the storefront.

Bundle Product Preview

The Bundle Product Preview provides a real-time preview of how the rule will appear to customers on your storefront.

This preview helps you verify the bundle configuration before publishing the rule.

Preview Components

Bundle Title

Displays the heading shown to customers.

Example: Add This Bundle

Primary Product

Shows the product that triggers the dependency rule.

Example:

  • Arin Socks

  • Price: $39.00

Dependent Product

Shows the product that must be purchased together with the primary product.

Example:

  • Lady Roma Scarf

  • Price: $200.00

Bundle Relationship Indicator

A plus (+) symbol is displayed between products to indicate that they are part of the same bundle and must be purchased together.

Total Price

Displays the combined price of all products included in the bundle.

Example:

  • Arin Socks: $39.00

  • Lady Roma Scarf: $200.00

  • Total Bundle Price: $239.00

This helps customers clearly understand the complete cost of the bundle before adding it to their cart.

Merchants can now choose between Vertical and Horizontal bundle layouts when configuring a Dependency Rule.

The selected layout is automatically applied to both the storefront and the Bundle Customization section.

Live previews for each layout are also available, allowing merchants to visualize the bundle's appearance before publishing.

Why Use Bundle Product Preview?

The preview allows you to:

  • Review the customer-facing bundle experience before publishing.

  • Verify that the correct products are included in the rule.

  • Confirm pricing and bundle structure.

  • Ensure the bundle layout matches your store design.

  • Reduce configuration errors and unnecessary storefront testing.

Any design changes made through the Customize settings are reflected in the preview, allowing you to see exactly how the bundle widget will appear to customers.
