# Dashboard

#### Step 1: Add the App Block

To start using the SKELTA Buy X Restrict Y app in your Shopify store, you first need to embed its app block into your store theme.

To do this, go to the app dashboard and click the **Activate App Embed** button. This will redirect you to the Shopify theme editor, where you can add and enable the app block in your store theme.

#### Step 2: Define Rules

Create product-based or collection-based restriction and dependency rules directly from the app dashboard. These rules allow you to control which products can be purchased together and which products require other products to be added to the cart before checkout.

#### Step 3: Configure Messaging Fallback

Customize the messages displayed when restriction or dependency rules are triggered. All fallback messages can be managed and updated from the app dashboard to provide clear guidance to your customers during their shopping experience.

Once these steps are completed and your changes are saved, the app will be active and ready to enforce your configured rules on your storefront.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://magecomp.gitbook.io/shopify/apps/skelta-buy-x-restrict-y/dashboard.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
