# Reward Type
The **Reward Type** section allows you to choose how customers will earn and redeem loyalty rewards.
#### Step 1: Open Rewardo Loyalty Program
1. Open **Shopify Admin**.
2. Go to **Apps**.
3. Open **Rewardo Loyalty Program**.
4. You will see the **Reward Type** section on the main page.
#### Step 2: Choose a Reward Type
Under **Reward Type**, you can see three options:
**1. Point Rewards**
**Point Rewards** allows customers to earn points for different actions and later redeem those points for rewards.
**Example:**\
A customer earns **100 points** after making a purchase. They can later use those points to claim a reward or discount.
Click **Manage** under **Point Rewards** to configure the point-based reward system.
**2. Rewards with Discount Codes**
**Rewards with Discount Codes** allows customers to earn rewards in the form of discount codes.
**Example:**\
A customer earns a reward worth **10% off**. The system generates a discount code that the customer can use during checkout.
In your screenshot, this option is marked **Active**, which means it is currently selected and being used by the loyalty program.
Click **Manage** to configure the discount-code reward settings.
**3. Rewards with Store Credit**
**Rewards with Store Credit** allows customers to earn store credit that they can use for future purchases.
**Example:**\
A customer earns **$10 store credit** as a loyalty reward. The customer can use that credit toward a future order.
Click **Manage** to configure the store-credit reward settings.
#### Why use Reward Type?
Merchants can choose the reward method that best fits their loyalty strategy:
* **Point Rewards** → Best when you want customers to collect and redeem points.
* **Discount Codes** → Best when you want to give customers promotional discount codes.
* **Store Credit** → Best when you want to give customers credit that encourages them to make another purchase.
