# Limit Quantity in Cart

Shopify merchants can apply the limits to product quantity to the customer's shopping cart instead of applying the purchase limits to any specific product or collection.

#### <mark style="color:blue;">Step #1</mark>

Go to **Limit Quantity in Cart**.

#### <mark style="color:blue;">Step #2</mark>

Fill in the **Min Limit** & **Max Limit** under the **Set limits for quantity in cart** section & save.

Suppose you've set the following limits.

| Min Limit | Max Limit |
| :-------: | :-------: |
|     2     |     5     |

If there is only 1 product in the cart, the purchase will not be completed because **Min Limit = 2**.

If there are 6 products in the cart, the purchase will not be completed because **Max Limit = 5**.

This app also provides you with the functionality to display a message to your customers if the min and max purchase criteria are not fulfilled during the checkout procedure.

Below the **Set limits for quantity in cart**, you will find a section to **Set Limit Alert Messages**.

{% hint style="info" %}
*Here, you can **customize** your limit alert message that will be displayed to your customers whenever they have not fulfilled the minimum and maximum purchase limit criteria*.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://magecomp.gitbook.io/shopify/apps/kor-order-limit-quantity-1/limit-quantity-in-cart.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
